Rail Baltic implementation agreement signed – the largest project in the company's history

AB Kauno Tiltai and LTG Infra, an infrastructure company belonging to the LTG Group responsible for the implementation of the international Rail Baltica project in Lithuania, have signed a new contract. Under the contract, the company will build a 24.4 km railway embankment with the necessary engineering structures on the Ramygala–Berčiūnai section.

According to Aldas Rusevičius, CEO of Kauno Tiltai, the company's many years of experience will enable the work to be carried out very smoothly. "The scope of the project dictates the need for bold technical solutions and a fast pace of construction. As part of the Polish railway group, we are confident in taking on this challenge – our technical expertise and international experience strengthen our project management and quality assurance solutions," emphasized A. Rusevičius.

The contract is the largest in the history of Kauno Tiltai.

Kauno Tiltai also undertakes to build eight railway bridges, three railway viaducts, two animal crossings, and an ecological bridge, as well as to reconstruct four sections of national roads.

Rail Baltica is a strategic project of the LTG Group and the European Union, and the largest railway infrastructure project in the Baltic States. It will involve the construction of an electrified railway line that meets European standards, connecting Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia with Central and Western Europe, thus ensuring regional integration, civil and military mobility needs, and the overall resilience of the transport system.

Section: Ramygala–Berčiūnai (24.43 km)
Contract value: EUR 205,693,295.87 (excluding VAT)
Deadlines: the works are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028.

Subject of the contract: construction of a new double-track railway embankment and engineering structures.

Project scope:

Construction of a double-track railway embankment with ancillary structures (24.43 km) on the Ramygala–Berčiūnai section;
Construction of 2 animal crossings;
Construction of 1 green bridge;
Construction of 3 railway viaducts; ​
Construction of 8 railway bridges; ​
Construction of service and access roads with a total length of approximately 53.8 km; ​
Reconstruction of sections of national roads A8, A17, and 195;
Repair works are being carried out on the 3002 road of national importance; ​
The 110 kV and 330 kV Litgrid electricity networks are being reconstructed; ​
The ESO medium-pressure gas pipeline networks are being reconstructed; ​
Reconstruction of 0.4 kV and 10 kV ESO electricity distribution networks; ​
The project includes the design and reconstruction of Litgrid networks (Panevėžys node).
