AB “Kauno tiltai” completed the construction of the Kuprioniškės transformer substation and the installation of power cable lines. The new infrastructure will ensure the power supply to the “Teltonika High-Tech Hill” technology park.
On September 16, the transformer substation in Kuprioniškės—essential for the “Teltonika High-Tech Hill” technology park being developed in Vilnius—was officially opened. AB “Kauno tiltai” acted as the contractor for this project, responsible for the construction of the substation and the installation of power cable lines as commissioned by “Litgrid.”
As part of the project, a new 110 kV substation with five switchgear units was built, and two 63 MVA transformers were installed. Two 110 kV cable lines were also laid, with a total route length of 7.5 km.
The installed infrastructure will ensure an electrical capacity of up to 58 MW in accordance with the connection terms. This solution will enable a reliable electricity supply to the “Teltonika High-Tech Hill” technology park, whose development is significant for Lithuania’s high-tech and industrial sectors.
Energy infrastructure projects require not only technical expertise but also precise work planning, coordination of various processes, and the ability to promptly resolve any issues that arise. The Kuprioniškiai substation project was completed faster than originally planned.
According to the initial commitments, the plan was to ensure electricity supply to the technology park by the end of August 2027. Electricity supply began in September 2026. All parties involved in the project contributed to accelerating its implementation, and the organization of construction work and the implementation of technical solutions were an important part of this process.
The Kuprioniškiai substation project adds to the list of energy infrastructure projects being carried out by AB “Kauno tiltai.” The company’s activities include the construction of power grids, substations, and other energy facilities, as well as the installation of infrastructure.
